A PERFORMANCE OF ‘CRYSTAL’S VARDO’; A PLAY THAT EXAMINES THE IMPACT OF BEING BULLIED AT SCHOOL ON A YOUNG GYPSY GIRL’S LIFE.

Crystal’s Vardo’ is a play by Suzanne King and has been performed in schools, theatres, festivals, colleges, prisons and conferences for health professionals and police and shows how powerful theatre can be in tackling racism and celebrating history and culture. It explores the rich history and culture of Gypsies and Travellers to raise awareness and improve understanding of the Travelling community. For a preview, please access this short video HERE.

The performance be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A session, guests including Scottish Traveller Activist and Campaigner David T. Donaldson and Professor Alison McFadden from the University of Dundee, who is the lead author and researcher of a recent study exploring discrimination and ways NHS services can improve trust among Gypsies, Roma and Traveller people and communities.
